We recently attended the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace, which is without a doubt one of our favourite shows. Not least because of all the dogs who visit each year. It’s hard work keeping them away from the sablés, but we just love seeing them all having fun together and this year’s pack was bigger than ever!
As for the event itself, we had a stand in the Food Hall (5th-7th July), surrounded by a wonderful selection of Scottish Food & Drink producers including Inverawe Smoked Salmon, Orkney Ice Cream, Perthshire Oatcakes and Isabella’s Preserves. All absolutely delicious, you can take our word on that!
It was real showcase of the best Scotland has to offer. Our sister Rebecca, who helped on the stand, found our sablés paired exceptionally well with the local ‘Scruffy Dog Cider’, conveniently being sampled on our neighbouring stand.
Sablés sales were the best they had ever been, almost selling out on day two, and with many repeat customers from previous years. Although, our highlight of the weekend was a sale to a fellow exhibitor who paid using only 50p coins, as someone had just bought a £250 wood carving from him, using 500 fifty-pence pieces!
All-in-all a wonderful weekend, which we are already looking forward to repeating next year.
